Longhorn Community of Care
UT Austin students with foster care experience deserve to cross the finish line. They have what it takes to earn a degree. We make sure nothing stands in their way.
Every Longhorn Deserves to Cross the Finish Line
The Longhorn Community of Care (LCC) is a volunteer group of UT Austin alumni, powered by Foster Angels of Central Texas, that exists to bridge the gap between what financial aid covers and what students with foster care experience actually need to thrive on the Forty Acres.
When most students head to college, they have a family behind them — someone to call about a new pair of shoes, rent when things get tight, or just a voice of encouragement during finals week. For students who grew up in foster care, that safety net is often missing. LCC is here to change that.
